How to vote in Sweden

As Swedish or EU citizen voting in Sweden you usually vote in a polling station in the district where you are included in the electoral roll.
As Swedish citizen you can vote from abroad by post or at the Swedish embassies and consulates. You must apply to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) every ten years to be included on the electoral roll from abroad.

You do not need to register. If you are entitled to vote, you will receive a voting card. It will be delivered by post approximately three weeks prior to the election.
If you wish to vote by post, you must have special postal voting materials. These materials can be ordered from the Swedish Election Authority, a municipality, or a Swedish embassy or Swedish consulate.

If you are a Swedish national wishing to vote from abroad you need to send your postal votes no earlier than 45 days prior to election day. Postal votes must have arrived by the time votes are counted.
You can vote early at embassies and consulates not earlier than 24 days before election day. You cannot vote on election day from abroad.

If you are the citizen of another EU Member State other than Sweden you can choose whether you want to vote in Sweden or your country of citizenship. It is a precondition that you are a registered resident in Sweden. The County Administrative Board must receive your completed form to register to vote in Sweden at least 30 days prior to the election day.

Voters with disability willing to vote in the European elections in Sweden can get assistance to vote in the polling station if needed. Polling stations must be accessible for people with disabilities. You can as well get help to vote by proxy or by travelling proxies.
