A significant and increasing number of young people across Europe are expressing their concern about mental health issues such as high stress, anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses amongst their peers. The World Health Organisation estimates that about 25% of the world’s population experiences a mental health problem at some point in their life. Taking care of its citizens, the EU finances diverse mental health and well-being initiatives.

PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE OF SOCIALISTS AND DEMOCRATS (S&D)
The S&Ds put mental health at the forefront of their priorities and call for a truly comprehensive approach with a special focus on vulnerable groups. They demand the strengthening of preventive measures and guaranteeing the provision of care for people with mental health problems while ensuring that nobody is marginalised or stigmatised. They also advocate for the workers' right to disconnect, recognising the importance of a healthy work-life balance.
RENEW EUROPE
For Renew, promoting mental health and well-being at work should be a public health priority. In this regard, they call for the revision of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
THE GREENS/ EUROPEAN FREE ALLIANCE (EFA)
The Greens/EFA advocates for a European Union that cares for all and protects the vulnerable. To step up and ensure no one is left behind, they defend a real social Union that puts health and well-being at the heart of our society. They demand substantial investments in promoting mental health in health and social services.
